The Chicago Dental Society (CDS), an advocate for good oral health for all, was organized in the mid-late 1800’s and still goes strong today with a membership of over 6,000 dentists from the Chicago metropolitan areas of Cook, Lake, and DuPage counties in Illinois. Since CDS’ founding in 1864, its mission has been to promote the improvement of the health for the public, to highlight the science and art of dentistry, and to embody the interest of its dental members and the people that it serves. The Chicago Dental Society together with the Illinois State Dental Society and the American Dental Association form a tripartite group focused on improving dental techniques, technologies, and continuing dental education.
